Deadwood, Ellsworth AF Base museum, and the badlands

First thing in the morning I got to Deadwood.  I saw Wild Bill's and Calamity Jane's graves.  I then drove through Sturgis and through the Badlands.

 View of Deadwood

Sturgis.  With the rally going on, there is no place for a truck with a camper to stop.  I was happy to see it and happy to keep driving through.  I was there around 9am so it wasn't to busy yet.

Ellsworth has a free airplane and space museum right outside their gate.  Worth a stop if you are in the area.
They were painting their B-29 black.  Not sure why.

 Minute man missile.
 B-52

 F-111
Nike/Ajax missile.  Same as was stationed around Anchorage and Fairbanks.

One of the first nuclear tipped cruise missiles.  Rode under the wing of a B-52
 Minute Man missile silo.
Maintenance access and back up generator.  The post in the back is the motion detector security system.
 The silo door
 Man access to the silo.

 Dome over the silo

 The bad lands
Lots of these guys around.  I believe they are pronghorn, but they climb like goats!

    1. I think the worst thing would be cruising across the plains in your covered wagon and coming up to the canyons and wondering how to get around. You could probaby get a horse through it.
