Short update

I made it back to Las Vegas late on the 30th. I picked up my truck, a little dirtier and lonely, but in fine shape. I got checked into the Mirage hotel/casino.  I got a few hours of sleep, but coming off night shift still has me a little messed up.  Just walked around today and played a little blackjack (up $3 dollars!!) and took a nap .  Tried to go to the pawn shop from Pawn Stars but the line to get in was a block long.  I'll try again in the morning. Maybe if I'm there early enough the line will be shorter. Also tomorrow I'm going to the race track to drive some cars.  Hopefully there will be some good pictures for you tomorrow.

Stage 5 itinerary

Here is how the 5th stage of my journey should look.  If the weather is good enough I'll be driving through the mountains more when heading from Reno to the redwoods.  If not, I'll take the interstate through and maybe stop at Donner Pass (but only if the weather is real good!)

Stage 5

Day 1-4 (Oct 30-Nov2) in Vegas

Nov 1st.  at the race track to drive cars.

Day 5 (Nov.3 Sunday)

Vegas to  Lake Tahoe: 437 miles 7 hours.

Day 6 (Monday 4^th)

Lake Tahoe to Reno : 32 miles .50 hours

Depending on weather I'll take the more scenic route or stick with the interstate.

(Donner Pass off Interstate 80)

L.T. to Alton (Avenue of the Giants) 326 miles 6.25 hours

(Hiway 395 to Susanville. Hiway 36 to 101 Alton)

(Alt. Interstate 80/Donner Pass to Hiway 20 (Yuba City) 99 North to 36. 36 to 101)

Day 7 (Tues 5^th)

Alton/Avenue of the Giants to Ft. Bragg, CA (Sea-glass beach) 113 miles 2.25hours

Ft. Bragg to Folsom Prison 214 miles 4 hours

Day 8 (Wed 6^th)

F.P to San Jose (Winchester House) 144 miles 2.5 hours

San Jose to Atwater, CA (Castle Air Museum) 112 miles 2 hours

Day 9 (Thurs. 7^th)

Atwater to Yosemite: 75 miles 1.5 hours

Yosemite to Bixby Bridge: 202 miles 4 hours

Day 10 (Fri 8^th)

BB to Valencia CA (6 flags) 284 miles 5.5 hours

Day 11 (Sat. 9^th)

6 flags to Chino, CA (Planes of Fame museum) 68 miles 1.25 hours.

Day 12 (Sun 10^th)

Chino to Wild West Junction/Route 66 (John Wayne Collection) 403 miles 5.75 hours)

Day 13 (Monday Nov. 11^th)

WWJ to Prescott, AZ (Ruger Firearms) 70 miles 1.5 hours

Prescott to Vail, AZ 238 miles 3.5 hours

Dominican trip

Here are my pictures from my trip to the Dominican Republic.  I'll have a few more later, but hopefully this will hold you for a bit!  I don't have many pictures because most all my activities were water based: scuba diving, jet skiing, snorkeling, boat rides on inflatables, swimming, etc.  I had a good time and they even had a birthday party for me. 

 Scooters and small motorcycles are the primary transportation in the country.  This is one of the nicer ones.
