Museum of the Air Force (Part 1)

Visited the Museum of the Air Force.  Great collection of airplanes and it is even free!

 This is their memorial garden.

On to the museum.  This is a WWII Japanese trainer.

I saw this B-29 with the mock up atom bombs (one of the volunteers made sure to tell me these weren't the original bombs or even live bombs.  Wow!) and started wondering where Bockcar was at, or even if it still was around.  I know the Enola Gay is in the Smithsonian.
I walked around the nose of the plane and was very surprised to see that it was Bockscar.  This is the plane that dropped the second nuclear bomb of WWII.

It amazes me how small the German fighters were compared to the Allies.

These are the glasses that the surviving members of the Doolittle Raid used every year to celebrate their raid over Tokyo.  Every time a member dies his cup it taken out of the holder, turned upside down and put back into place.  There are only 4 upright cups left.

These drones are surprisingly large too.

Twin Mustang from Korean war era.  Used as a night fighter.
